Drilling / sinking wells - Burkina Faso

The drilling / sinking wells project was developed by ICEAL in order to meet the water shortage in Burkina Faso, a real scourge for farming and economy of the country and the main reason of malnutrition among the poorest Burkinabe.

The drilling / wells sinking organized by ICEAL, located in Sahel Desert, are intended to Burkinabe living within 15Km around  the water point. ICEAL is working in partnership with a local NGO, to supervise the activities , to find partnership with drilling / sinking companies, and insure the project will come out in due time. 
 
Logic framework of drilling / sinking wells project

Target  : improve Burkinabe’s living in Sahelian Desert
Special target : give an access to drinkable water to Burkinabe living in some regions of the Sahel desert . Reduce the diseases and the malnutrition related to the lack of water or undrinkable water. Reduce the distance for some inhabitants to go for water too.
Results assessments : The project success depends on many factors. :
(1) The drinkable water access which will be calculated by the capacity in water of wells and by its quality,
(2) The number of persons benefiting from the new water source, the project is a success if the water source supply effectively all surrounding villages,
(3) The report that diseases are decreasing,
(4) Burkinabe’s satisfaction evaluated through a questionnaire.
